As a theologian, writer, spiritual director, prayer coach, and retreat leader, my passion and joy is to help Christian leaders make the paradigm shift from “loving workers” to “working lovers" who live and lead out of a living connection with the love of God. I am convinced that the goal of the work of God in us is that we would experience God’s love and learn to love as God loves.
I am an avowed member of Imago Christi, a community of spiritual formation missionaries who seek to live a life of intimacy with Christ, even as we facilitate that journey for others.

Imago Christi supports Christian leaders around the world through spiritual direction, adaptive formation training courses, and supporting ministry teams that desire to grow into spiritual communities. Imago Christi's Spiritual Formation Discovery is a foundational course which provides a healthy and life-giving framework for the progressive journey into deeper union and communion with the Trinity. Together with my wife Sharon, we co-founded The Table Retreats in Sunriver, Oregon, to help couples in ministry reconnect to the joy that drew them into marriage and ministry through Sabbath space, a beautiful setting, and intentional conversations.
I received my M.Div. from Regent College in Vancouver, Canada, where I was privileged to study spiritual theology and formation under Eugene Peterson. My happy mid-life crisis led us to Scotland where I earned a PhD in theology from the University of Aberdeen. My thesis is published under the title, Trinitarian Grace and Participation – an entry into the theology of T.F. Torrance. My ordination is with the Presbyterian Church (USA), and I received my Spiritual Direction Certification and Training through SoulFormation in 2024.
I have been married to Sharon for 36 years and we have three grown children, each born in a different country (Canada, USA, China). We currently reside in Camas, WA.
